What is the Joint Admissions Agreement (JAA)?
The JAA is an agreement between 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) that allows CCRI students to easily transfer to 51³Ô¹ÏÍø.
Students can begin working toward one of many possible bachelor's degrees at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø while earning their associates degree at CCRI. Although it's common for students to transfer from CCRI to 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, the purpose of the JAA is to facilitate the transition from the associates degree at CCRI to the bachelor's degree at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø.
Why Should I Participate?
If you enroll in the Joint Admissions Agreement between CCRI and 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, and complete an associates degree from an approved CCRI program, you'll receive:
- conditional acceptance to 51³Ô¹ÏÍø
- a waived 51³Ô¹ÏÍø application fee
- up to 30% tuition reduction based on CCRI GPA
- one-on-one advising at both CCRI and 51³Ô¹ÏÍø
- the help needed for a stress-free transfer to 51³Ô¹ÏÍø as a junior in the major you've specified
Am I Eligible?
You are eligible to apply if you have earned fewer than 30 credits at CCRI and have never attended another college or university. In order to make the transition from CCRI to 51³Ô¹ÏÍø you need to have:
- completed your approved associates degree at CCRI with a cumulative GPA of 2.4 or higher
- submitted the intent to enroll form to 51³Ô¹ÏÍø
- met all academic and non academic requirements for enrollment at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø
Our transfer admissions team will work directly with CCRI to request your official transcript. You do not need to request your own CCRI transcript.
